A phrase used and booed by fishmongers in the streets of Concarneau, Brittany, to announce the arrival of the "beautiful and fresh" sardine, straight from the nets.

The ambiguity of two words used in everyday language to describe the "beauty" of women today is employed here to refer to fresh fish.

My collection is a women's collection, inspired by my own family home, also located in this same Breton town, and combined with the quirky personality of a woman I admire and hold dear: my grandmother.

Built in the 1970s, this house, with its kitschy and ornate style, is predominantly composed of bright, feminine colors such as pink, purple, beige, and blue... combined with floral tapestries and gold embellishments, bling, and shine. The style of a quirky, conservative grandmother who loves ruffles, frills, plastic, and all things girly, but who, paradoxically, still works as a fishmonger at the age of 75.

This collection reflects the over-the-top style of both Grandma herself and the house she lives in. Each outfit is the reincarnation of a room in this house: "The living room, the pink bathroom, the blue bathroom, the bedroom, the hallway..." Made from raw materials like a mop, combined with garbage bags to create the effect of cheap faux leather, adorned with gold trim to match the furniture, and all of this is paired with floral patterns that harmonize with the wallpaper in this home. Grandma loves decorating, loves girly things, loves vintage, but struggles with new things. Grandma keeps everything because you never know, it might come in handy someday. Grandma's biggest problem is that she has no sense of moderation; everything is too much, abundance is the key word. Yes, Grandma is neglected half the year, but watch out, Grandma knows how to be elegant when the occasion arises, and when it does, watch out, she does it in style.
To my grandmother, to this house whose beauty had, for a long time, ceased to shine.
